A CLOSER LOOK

Paper with a purpose.

Dragon-scale page construction gives this tea-house booklet the staggered rhythm of an older Chinese book. Its pale folded leaves are printed together, making the layered edges and hand-held scale clear. Historic binding gives the contemporary tea setting a physical connection to older books without turning the space into a pastiche. This format can give guests a small cultural encounter as they read, with the page sequence supporting a slower and more attentive moment around the tea.
