A CLOSER LOOK

Paper with a purpose.

The visual story begins with an ornate postcard with layered gold, blue and green dragon-scale and cloud-like motifs. The print and finishing approach uses letterpress. Its character comes from the way the intricate decoration gains clarity from reserved areas of open space around the main lettering. Paper weight and small lettering matter together when this format is handled rather than only viewed. The visual direction can be translated into new artwork once the material and print details are agreed.
