A CLOSER LOOK

Paper with a purpose.

An illustrated Cathay Theatre postcard is held up in front of the real building across a Shanghai street. Its red title and orange Art Deco façade line up with the architectural subject behind it, giving a direct comparison between print and place. Small blocks of historical-looking text sit near the lower edge. The tall format is well suited to a landmark souvenir or exhibition series. This design belongs to the pictured site, and another building would need an accurately researched illustration and caption.
