Blind-Embossed Shell Wedding Invitations.

This piece presents ivory invitation cards carrying large pale shell relief beside a restrained black type panel. The printed effect comes from letterpress, embossing. When held or applied, the seaside subject appears through pressure and shadow, so the print remains monochrome and quiet. At usable scale, the balance between lettering, color and open space remains clear. For another project, stock, size and finishing would be chosen around the intended use and the way people handle the piece.
